REGINA, Sask. — From hitching a ride across the Prairies to flying halfway around the world, Foo Fighters fans are going to extraordinary lengths to make it to the band’s Tuesday Regina concert.
Pam Mollinedo, a data analysis instructor from Winnipeg, wanted to attend the Foo Fighters concert in Regina but saw that flight prices were much too expensive, so she took to Reddit.
She made a post pleading for someone to give her a lift to Regina. In the post, she said she'd be "happy to pitch in for gas, snacks, etc."
Lucky for Mollinedo, another massive Foo Fighters fan agreed to take her, and after she arrived in Regina, she said it was "a really great experience."
"We were talking about music, talking about concerts and how exciting it will be to see Foo Fighters … It was really my only hope to see the Foo Fighters," says Mollinedo.
Mollinedo is planning to return to Winnipeg with the same man who drove her to Regina.
Another pair of fans, a mother and daughter, met here in Canada to come see the show. Carla, the mother, flew in from the U.K., and her daughter, Chloe, flew in from New Zealand. This will be the 18th time the pair have seen the Foo Fighters live. Carla's plan is to get as close as possible to the barrier.
"It's my 50th birthday, and this is where they are, so this is where we're coming … I've got a sign that says it's my 50th birthday, can I have a drink?" says Carla.
