REGINA, Sask. — An 18-year-old man faces several charges after a robbery and foot-chase in North Central Regina early Wednesday morning, say police.
At approximately 1 a.m. on Sept. 16, officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Angus Street following the report of a robbery. The adult male victim told police he had been assaulted around 7th Avenue and Albert Street. He reported being kicked and having his glasses stolen during the incident. EMS took him to hospital with, what appeared to be, non-life-threatening injuries.
Within minutes, officers located the suspect walking near 4th Avenue and Wascana Street. When approached by police, the suspect failed to comply with demands and fled on foot.
A Police Service Dog (PSD) was used and successfully apprehended the suspect. Officers also recovered a knife from the area where the arrest took place. EMS took the suspect to hospital with injuries consistent with a dog bite.
