Special weather statements are in place for much of the eastern part of southern Saskatchewan.
Environment Canada issued the weather advisory as conditions are reportedly favorable for funnel clouds to be developed.
While it is not likely that the funnel clouds would hit the ground, they could cause serious damage as landspout tornadoes if they do hit the ground.
Residents of the impacted areas are advised to pay attention to the weather. If systems become more favorable for tornadoes, watches and warnings will be issued by Environment Canada.
The area includes Kamsack, Moosomin, Yorkton and Melville, as well as their surrounding areas.
