REGINA, Sask. — Three men are facing charges after a robbery in downtown Regina.
At approximately 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 16, Regina police officers were called to the 1300 block of Saskatchewan Drive following the report of a robbery. The caller told police they witnessed a group of individuals assaulting an adult male. One suspect appeared to be in possession of a firearm and was using it to strike the victim.
Within minutes, officers arrived and located the victim nearby. He reported that he was approached by a group of individuals who assaulted him and took a gazebo and several grocery items before fleeing on foot. EMS attended the scene and transported the victim to hospital with, what appeared to be, non-life-threatening injuries.
Additional officers located two suspects nearby, and both were taken into custody without incident. After reviewing surveillance footage, officers identified a third suspect, who was later located and arrested in the area of Halifax Street and 11th Avenue. During the arrest, officers recovered and seized an airsoft firearm believed to be connected to the incident.
A 24-year-old and 18-year-old man were charged with robbery. Another 28-year-old man was charged with robbery, failing to comply with a probation order, using an imitation firearm during a crime, and two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a court order.
All three appeared in Regina court Thursday.
