WILKIE, Sask. — The Wilkie RCMP responded to the following calls during the week of Sept 8 to 14.
RCMP received a request to attend a residence with Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) while they boarded up a residence. SCAN informed members they attended the property on their own with no issues.
Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle in a rural area near Wilkie. The vehicle was not stolen. The owner of the property was notified.
Members received a complaint of fraud. This matter is still under investigation.
RCMP have received several complaints of individuals sleeping in a vehicle. Members spoke to the subjects of complaint.
Members received a report of a vehicle hitting a moose on the highway near Landis. There were no injuries. Reported for insurance purposes.
Police received a report of a vehicle hitting a deceased moose on the highway near Landis. There were no injuries. Reported for insurance purposes.
RCMP received a report of a break and enter at a property structure. Members attended, but there was no sign of a break and enter.
Police received a report of puppies running loose on the roadway in Wilkie. Members ensured the animals were in an enclosed area.
Members received a report of an individual not complying with a release order, but it was unfounded.
RCMP received a report of individuals littering in Wilkie. This matter is still under investigation.
There was also one traffic complaint, one false alarm and one noise complaint.
In August 2026, Wilkie Citizens on Patrol Program (COPP) members conducted 11 patrols covering 609 kms in 35 hours while patrolling the community of Wilkie and area. In total, COPP members have volunteered for 490 hours, travelling 4,019 kms while conducting 74 patrols in 2026.
