Friday night at Mosaic Stadium will look and sound a bit different as the Saskatchewan Roughriders welcome the Calgary Stampeders. The theme for the game is “Lights out Electric Powwow,” which means fans will be treated to a light show at halftime.
“We’ve got lasers, we’ve got tons of different light show elements, and everyone will have a chance to be part of show,”explained Karina Peterson, Manager, Game Entertainment and Community.
Fans will receieve instructions at the game on an app they can download on their phone to be apart of the half-time light show, which will illuminate Mosaic Stadium. There will be live music performances from the group Halluci Nation, an indigenous DJ collective that blends various forms of dance music together.
“Live music is going to be performed pregame and half-time, so the Halluci Nation has got a couple sets they’ll play for us, so it’s going to be a lot of fun,” noted Peterson.
In addition to live music and a light show, indigenous championship dancers and youth dancers will be performing on the field and special Roughrider Indigeous-themed clothing will be on sale in the Rider store.
“We’ve already started rehersals for the light shows and so spending the evenings at the stadium just gets you excited about what Friday’s going to bring,” smiled Peterson.
620 CKRM will be broadcasting the game starting at 4:30pm with Countdown to Kickoff, the pre-game show at 6:30, and kick-off at 7:30pm. Those who are unable to make it to the game can listen to it live by CLICKING HERE.
