PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. — A multi-unit operation conducted by Saskatchewan RCMP to help reduce property crime in the Prince Albert area resulted in 14 criminal warrants being executed, 30 criminal charges being laid and no break-and-enter incidents reported.
During the month of September 2026, Prince Albert RCMP responded to the reports of 33 break-and-enter incidents, compared to 11 break-and-enter incidents in August 2026.
Between Sept. 23 and 26, Saskatchewan RCMP specialized units organized a targeted property crime reduction operation in Prince Albert and neighbouring communities.
The joint operation included police officers with Saskatchewan RCMP’s Air Services, Kindersley RCMP, Meadow Lake Crime Reduction Team, Meadow Lake Combined Traffic Service Saskatchewan (CTSS), Meadow Lake RCMP, Melfort CTSS, North District Management Team, Prince Albert CTSS, Prince Albert RCMP, and Saskatoon CTSS.
Police officers patrolled the Big River, Ahtahkakoop, Pelican Lake, Shellbrook, Spiritwood, Prince Albert and Rosthern areas during the day and night. During the crime reduction operation, Saskatchewan RCMP officers spoke with over 200 residents to answer their questions and offer safety tips.
Saskatchewan RCMP officers also took law enforcement actions. They:
- executed 14 warrants (six wanted individuals were remanded into police custody);
- laid 30 Criminal Code charges: 20 for impaired driving, three for flight from police, three for dangerous driving, and two for obstruction;
- suspended the licences of 23 drivers for consuming alcohol or drugs before driving;

“This proactive crime reduction initiative was successful,” said Prince Albert RCMP Detachment Commander S/Sgt. Stephen M. Hurst. “During the operation, we received no reports of property crime in the Prince Albert RCMP area, removed several offenders from our communities and connected with many residents who appreciated the increased police presence,”
