REGINA, Sask. — The final tee times of Regina's 2026 golf season are approaching.
Lakeview Golf Course's last day of operation will be Oct. 4, while Murray, Tor Hill and Joanne Goulet will remain open until Oct. 12, weather permitting.
For golfers at Murray, the season ultimately delivered solid conditions despite a rough beginning.
“It was a good season,” said Gus Vogel, head professional at Murray Golf Course. “We got off to a bit of a slow start, but once the weather straightened out, it was good.”
Vogel said golfers responded well to the condition of the course as the season progressed.
Brian Duec, head golf professional at Joanne Goulet Golf Course and manager of Lakeview Par 3, said Saskatchewan's spring weather is always a factor.
“The spring weather wasn't very conducive to golf this year, unfortunately, but that's kind of how it goes,” Duec said. “Mother Nature wins all the time.”
Despite the late start, the courses provided another season of municipal golf for Regina residents, with the city describing 2026 as another strong year across its four facilities.
The season's end will not mean the end of outdoor recreation at Tor Hill. The course will transition to winter use, with trails available for cross-country skiing, skate skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking.
Duec says golfers already have next season in their sights.
“We always want to thank all the people that come out and play the golf course and enjoy the facility here and hope to see them in the spring of 2027,” he said.
The city has not yet announced opening dates for the 2027 golf season, which will depend on spring weather and course conditions.
