CRAVEN, Sask. — Saskatchewan conservation officers are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying those responsible for unlawfully discarding several ducks and sandhill cranes along Russell Hill Road southeast of Craven.
According to a message from the Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory Network, the birds were abandoned with all edible meat intact and none salvaged.
Officers believe the birds were shot during the morning of Oct. 3 and discarded between approximately 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Anyone who travelled Russell Hill Road or the surrounding area during this time is asked to report any suspicious activity, vehicles or individuals they may have observed. Vehicle descriptions, licence plate numbers, photographs, dash-camera footage, or other video may assist with the investigation.
