MELVILLE, Sask. — A 73-year-old woman from the Melville aera has died after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 10 northeast of the city, say RCMP.
On Oct. 2, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Melville RCMP received the report of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian, approximately nine kilometers northeast of Melville.
Officers responded along with local fire and EMS. The pedestrian was declared dead by EMS at the scene. She has been identified as a 73-year-old woman from the Melville detachment area. Her family has been notified.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene. Both the driver and passenger were assessed at the scene by EMS.
Melville RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist and the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service.
As of Oct. 5, at 8:45 a.m., Saskatchewan RCMP reports there have been 72 fatal collisions with 87 fatalities on roadways policed by Saskatchewan RCMP in 2026.
