REGINA, Sask. — Two Ontario residents who were wanted in connection with a murder investigation were arrested in Regina following a multi-agency effort involving police services across three provinces.
Last week, members of the Regina Police Service Major Crime Unit, Tactical Support Team and RCMP’s Saskatchewan Enforcement Response Team (SERT) assisted the Ontario Provincial Police in an investigation that resulted in the arrest of two Arnprior, Ont. residents in connection with a death investigation.
In late September, the Ontario Provincial Police contacted Saskatchewan RCMP and the Regina Police Service with information that two suspects wanted in connection with a death investigation that had occurred in Ontario were believed to be travelling towards Saskatchewan. In collaboration with the Winnipeg Police Service, Saskatchewan RCMP’s SERT located the suspects as they entered Saskatchewan from Manitoba.
On Sept. 30, Saskatchewan RCMP’s SERT notified the Regina Police Service that the suspects were at a residence in Eastbrook, in the 3100 block of Copeland Road in Regina. Members of the Regina Police Service Tactical Support Team, Major Crimes Unit, Crisis Negotiation, Critical Incident Command and Patrol safely took both individuals into custody.
Lindsay Dolan, 37, and Dylan Zoobkoff, 33, were charged by the Ontario Provincial Police with second degree murder and committing an indignity to a body.
Both were transported to Ontario and made their first appearance on these charges in Ontario Court of Justice on Oct. 2.
This investigation highlights the role of collaboration between police services across Canada in supporting major criminal investigations, say Regina police.
