Martensville man sentenced to four years for fatal impaired driving accident in 2018 that killed an 11-year-old girl

A Martensville man has been sentenced to four years in jail in connection to the death of an 11-year-old girl.

On December 21st, 2018, emergency crews responded to a head on, two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 11 and 305 near Warman.

Thirty-three-year-old Anthony McClelland was charged with impaired driving causing death and two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm.

Two other people, including McClelland, were taken to hospital in the accident.

McClelland pleaded guilty, and was sentenced in Saskatoon court Monday to four years less 89 days credit from remand and a three year driving prohibition.

He is also sentenced to 1 year in jail for each of the impaired driving causing bodily harm charges, to run concurrently.
