Portion of Highway 39 closed due to serious collision

MILESTONE, Sask. — Emergency crews have been at the scene of what the Saskatchewan RCMP calls a serious collision at the intersection of Highway 39 and Highway 710.

As this investigation is in preliminary stages, the Saskatchewan RCMP said it does not have additional details to share.

Both lanes of Highway 39 are currently closed for an undetermined amount of time, the RCMP said. Detours are in place and motorists should expect delays in the area, the RCMP said. Motorists are asked to slow down and follow the instructions of emergency personnel on scene.

An initial report on the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure's Highway Hotline said a semi is reportedly blocking the highway.

SaskToday will have updates as they become available.
