SWIFT CURRENT, SK – Incumbent Saskatchewan Party MLA Everett Hindley will be running again in Swift Current.
Hindley was nominated by acclamation at a meeting Thursday night, according to a party news release. He has represented Swift Current in the legislature since a 2018 by-election, after succeeding former Premier Brad Wall as MLA. The riding has long been a Saskatchewan Party stronghold.
“I’m very grateful to the members for giving me the opportunity to be their candidate again,” Hindley said in a statement.
“Serving Swift Current is a job I take seriously, and I’m looking forward to getting back out and earning people’s support.”
Hindley is currently Minister of Education in the Scott Moe government, after stints as Minister of Health, Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, Seniors and Rural and Remote Health, as Government Whip, and as Legislative Secretary to the Minister of Trade and Export Development.
He is now the tenth Saskatchewan Party candidate to be nominated for the 2028 provincial election. The party's next nomination meeting is scheduled for Oct. 20 in Estevan – Big Muddy.
