Karina Peterson Manager, Game Entertainment & Community with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders will be looking “ship-shape” as they take on the Edmonton Elks Saturday afternoon at 1pm. The theme of the game is “Pirates of the Prairies,”meaning there will be a number of pirate-themed activities going on.
“We’ve got a rum run relay happening at pre-game and lots of fun things happening around the concourse,” noted Karina Peterson of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. “There’s some barrel-rolling, there’s some plank-walking, and all the good things you’d expect on a pirate ship.”
A fly-over from the Royal Canadian Air Force will happen prior to kick off and the 620 CKRM Rider Pep Band will perform O’Canada. One lucky winner will also be driving away in a brand new vehicle courtesy of the Capital Auto Group. The winner will get to choose one of six vehicles he/she would like to own.
“We’ve got big winnings happening at half-time, we’ve got our Capital Pick Six. Ten lucky contestants for a chance to win a car with one picked in stadium,” explained Peterson.
For those who can’t make it to Mosaic Stadium, 620 CKRM will broadcast the game.
