REGINA, Sask. — On Oct. 26, at approximately 1:55 p.m., police were dispatched to east Regina in the 2100 block of Anaquod Road for a report of a man throwing rocks at vehicles.
When officers arrived, they located a male matching the suspect description. He was taken into custody but while being escorted to a police vehicle, he became non-compliant, repeatedly spitting at officers and attempting to strike them with his elbow. A search following the arrest also resulted in the discovery of stolen property, with retail tags still attached.
As a result of the investigation, a 40-year-old man has been charged with two counts of assaulting a peace officer, theft under $5,000, and mischief under $5,000.
He will appear in Regina court on Dec. 2.
