Thanks to mild autumn weather, the City of Regina has decided to extend the yard waste depot season by two more days.
For those still needing to haul away leaves, grass clippings, and other garden waste, the City will be opening the depot on Fleet Street on November 6th and 7th from 9am to 5pm.
Besides grass, leaves, and garden waste, residents can drop off sod, bush and tree trimmings, tree branches (no elm trees) and small logs and stumps. The City also encourages residents to use yard waste bags or reusable containers to haul waste out. Plastic bags are not compostable, however there will be a place set up where customers can dispose of plastic properly. Sand, Gravel, rocks, food, and pet waste are not allowed.
After November 6th and 7th, the yard waste depot will be closed for the season. The Christmas Treecycle Program will return December 26th to Jan 31st.
The landfill has also adjusted their hours for winter which means they’ll be open Monday to Saturday from 7:30am to 5pm and closed on Sundays.
