The annual Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Radiothon will be heard on 620 CKRM and on radio stations around Saskatchewan on November 4th and 5th.
Harvard Media started this Radiothon many years ago with the goal of building a children’s hospital in Saskatchewan. Thanks to listeners, businesses, volunteers, a deeply committed fundraising group, and a huge $50 million donation from Jim Pattison, the hospital is built and operating in Saskatoon.
Despite being a new hospital, fundraising must continue to ensure the most modern medical equipment is located at the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital.
This year, money raised from the radiothon will go towards the Point-of-Care Ultrasound program, which is a portable ultrasound that can be performed at the bedside of a patient. This allows for real-time diagnosis in complex pediatric emergencies and improving patient outcomes.
The radiothon will be heard on CKRM on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Those wishing to make donations to the hospital can call 1-888-808-5437 or on their website. Donations will be matched up to $200,000 thanks to the David and Karen Holst Foundation.
The Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Radiothon is sponsored by CIBC Wood Gundy. Blue Cross is the Social Media sponsor.
