MACDOWELL, Sask. — Conservation officers from Prince Albert are investigating the deaths of two moose.
According to a message from the SaskTip Facebook page, on Oct. 28, officers received a Turn-In Poachers and Polluters (TIPP) line call regarding a cow and calf moose that were shot on private land approximately five kilometres north of MacDowall.
The calf moose was processed in the field and taken, while the cow moose was completely left to waste. There was no moose season on at this time, SaskTip said, and no one had permission to hunt on this land. The incident likely occurred on the night of Oct. 27 or the early morning of Oct. 28.
A cash reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the individual(s) responsible.
Anyone with information about this violation should contact the TIPP hotline at 1-800-667-7561. Calls are not traced or recorded and callers may choose to remain anonymous.
