With a hot weekend expected across southeastern Saskatchewan, Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for much of the southeastern corner.
Included in the advisory are Regina, Weyburn, Estevan, Yorkton and Melville.
“A series of disturbances tracking across the northern grainbelt will usher a hot air mass into the region today with temperatures climbing into the low thirties. Temperatures will remain warm tonight with overnight lows falling into the mid to upper teens then climb back up into the low to mid thirties on Saturday. When combined with the humidity humidex values in the upper thirties are expected for Saturday. Conditions are expected to improve slightly Saturday night as a cold front slides eastward across the region.
These conditions will be very close to heat warning criteria and the public is advised to listen for possible warnings.

Regina is expecting a high of 31 C on Friday and 32 C on Saturday before seasonal values return for Sunday.
The normal daytime high for the Queen City this time of year is about 24 C.
