In a way, Kerry Joseph feels as if he is heading home.
The former CFL quarterback, who won the Grey Cup for the Riders in 2007 after being named the league’s most outstanding player, is heading to the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks where he will serve as an offensive assistant under head coach Pete Carroll.
Joseph, speaking with 620 CKRM’s Michael Ball, says he will work with the team’s running backs while helping out in other areas as he learns from Carroll and other assistants in an effort to get where he wants to be.
“My goal is to eventually at one point be an OC [offensive coordinator] I’ve always had the dream of coaching in the NFL. When I got he call and asked if I was interested in the position, I went through the interview process virtually.” Joseph said.
Before coming to Canada, Joseph spent four years in Seattle (1998-2002) as a safety with the club. He comes to Seattle after spending last season at Southeastern Louisiana University as the passing game coordinator and running backs coach.
