Central Services Minister Ken Cheveldayoff says there have been lessons learned from the construction of the Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford facility.
A third party independent audit was released today (Fri) which listed 200 deficiencies in construction, the commissioning and the governance process.
Cheveldayoff explains that the work to address the deficiencies are not at the expense of the government or Saskatchewan residents in this P3 build.
The company that built the hospital, Access Prairies Partnership is responsible for that.
The audit notes that the majority of items are not unexpected in a facility this size.
SaskBuilds President and CEO Kyle Toffan says one thing they learned that will carry on to other projects is having 1 key project director.
He explains that with this project, Corrections was involved, the Saskatchewan Health Authority, the Ministries of Health and Central Services, and APP, the private company.
APP’s owner, Tim Heavenor says the remaining work will be done by the end of this fiscal year and there are no safety issues for patients or staff.
