Vehicle owners in Regina are being asked to be more attentive when it comes to protecting and securing their vehicles.
The Regina Police Service says it has noticed an increase in vehicle thefts in recent days with thieves targeting older models of Honda, including Civics and CRVs, and Acuras, including Integras.
A release from RPS states that thieves have been targeting models made between 1990 and 2004. The thefts have not been in any specific neighbourhoods but rather in areas throughout the city.
Police are encouraging owners to use anti-theft devices, such as a steering wheel club, to deter people from stealing their vehicle.
Residents are also encouraged to always lock their vehicles, remove garage door openers and make sure their vehicles are parked in a safe and secure location.
