Farm Credit Canada says Saskatchewan farmland values are showing relatively strong growth this year.
FCC chief agriculture economist J.P. Gervais says Saskatchewan farmland prices rose 4.2 percent in the first half of this year, slightly above the national rate of 3.7 percent.
He says farmland values are rising despite covid-19.
He says grain cash receipts are up 6.3 percent so far this year and farmers are expected to harvest a sizable crop this fall.
Gervais adds interest rates are low and there is strong demand for farm commodities.
