The government says Hallowe’en is a go as far as they are concerned, but those who go out are being told they will have to wait before digging in to the treats that they gather.
The province is laying out guidelines for Hallowe’en, Thanksgiving and Remembrance Days in the latest version of its Re-Open Saskatchewan plan,
Health officials are suggesting that all goodies collected not be touched for 72 hours before being consumed.
Those handing out candy should not have direct physical contact with trick-or-treaters and they should wear masks when greeting kids at the door with treats being handed out by things like tongs.
As for Thanksgiving and fall/fowl suppers, the province says gatherings can be held to a maximum of 30 people, but potlucks should not be happening and meals should not be served buffet-style.
It is also being advised that if possible, virtual ceremonies be held on Remembrance Day.
