It was a historic night for Connor Bedard and Team Canada at the World Juniors on Tuesday.
The 16-year-old Regina Pats forward became the youngest player in the history of the tournament to score four goals in a game, in Canada’s less than surprising 11-2 thumping of Austria.
No Canadian player has ever scored five goals in a game at the event, the only others to score four are; Mario Lemieux (1983), Simon Gagne (1999), Brayden Schenn (2010), Taylor Raddysh (2016) and Max Comtois (2018)
Bedard, was also the youngest Canadian player to score a hat-trick at the event since Wayne Gretzky, in 1977.

Bedard is leading the entire tournament in goals with four and is second in points with five, behind only teammate Cole Perfetti.
Canada who is undefeated so far, is back in action against Germany Wednesday night.
