Saskatchewan is expected to benefit from a $10-billion federal infrastructure funding announcement.
The funds are geared for expanding rural broadband services, agriculture irrigation, as well as clean power development, building retrofits and adoption of zero-emission buses.
Its expected some of the funding will go to a proposal around Lake Diefenbaker.
Preliminary work has started on a $4-billion, ten year project to double the irrigated farmland around Lake Diefenbaker to 500,000 acres.
The breakdown of the funds sees $2.5-billion for clean power generation.
Two-billion dollars to connect 750,000 homes and small businesses to rural broadband.
Two-billion dollars to retrofit buildings, $1.5-billion for agriculture irrigation projects, $1.5-billion for zero-emission buses.
