The Saskatchewan Party candidate in the Regina Rosemont riding is apologizing for an incident at the Craven Country Jamboree where he was involved in a drinking game where women were asked to show their breasts.
In a statement issued by the Saskatchewan Party, Alex Nau says “A number of years ago while at Craven with friends, I was involved in an interview that referenced a “wheel of fun” that included a disrespectful action. I understand how suggesting this action is disrespectful to women and regret my participation. It was wrong. I would not do this again.”
The Saskatchewan Party acknowledges the actions of Nau were juvenile, disrespectful and something not condoned by them, but that he did disclose this while communicating his regret and understanding how his behaviour was disrespectful.
As a result, they are not asking Nau to remove himself as the candidate in the Regina riding which is currently held by the NDP’s Trent Wotherspoon.
The NDP says the actions were disrespectful and Nau’s behaviour falls short of that.
