The federal government is now accepting applications for the Emergency On-Farm Support Fund for migrant workers.
The 35 million dollar fund will go to improve living quarters for temporary foreign and Canadian workers to avoid the spread of the coronavirus.
Agriculture minister Marie-Claude Bibeau says the improvements are cost-shared with the applicants up to 100 thousand dollars.
Bibeau says priority will be given to higher risk operations.
Bibeau says protecting farm workers to ensure food security is a priority for the federal government.
The federal government will administer this program for some provinces, including Saskatchewan and Alberta.
Other provinces, like Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec, are still finalizing program delivery arrangements.
