For several years across Saskatchewan one of the most sought after country music bands was The Electric Cattle Company. They performed at fairs, festivals, rodeo dances, and cabarets across the province and proved themselves to be one of the premiere party bands in the province. The former front man, Sheldon Tyacke, has gone on to a solo career and has just released a new single titled “Tattoos and Guitars.”
“Two of the most meaningful things for me are tattoos and guitars,” explained Tyacke. “I have quite a few tattoos and quite a few guitars so they both mean a lot to me. The tattoos I have mean something and I’m kind of a guitar collector plus I just love playing and writing and that kind of stuff.”
He confirms he is working on a new music project but concedes it’s still in the early stages. There is no release date at the moment but Tyacke is confident he’ll have his new album out in 2021.

He played and toured with The Electric Cattle Company for 24 years and reflects on those years with great joy especially when they were tapped to open for David lee Murphy and Paul Brandt. His greatest moment in the band came when he and the group opened for Mark Chesnutt.
“I’m a huge Mark Chesnutt fan and that was one of the highlights of my touring career,” smiled Tyacke. To open up for Mark Chesnutt in the little town of Lebret, SK of all places, close to home, was pretty cool I have to say.”
