The province will be using a private law firm for their case for its pronouns policy.
MLT Aikens, a law firm with offices across Western Canada, will join with the province’s legal team if needed as the policy winds its way through court.
An appeals court judge granted an injunction against the policy, and Premier Scott Moe called the legislature back a couple of weeks early to pass the policy as a bill, and then protect that bill from Constitutional challenges with the notwithstanding clause.
MLT Aikens previously worked with the province on their fight against the carbon tax a few years ago.
The last week of February 2024 has been set aside for the case at the Court of Kings Bench in Regina.
