Regina-based Protein Industries Canada has received renewed 5 year federal funding of 150 million dollars.
Chief technology officer, Meghan Gervais, says the funding will help support and expand the development of new products in Canada’s plant-based food, feed and ingredient sector.
Some of the products made from prairie crops include meat and dairy alternatives.
In its first five years, Protein Industries Canada has leveraged over 300 million dollars in private investment with 55 projects.
