The spring runoff forecast for Saskatchewan sees below to well below normal runoff for much of the southern grainbelt.
The Water Security agency says many areas went into winter drier than normal and despite significant snowfall runoff will be normal to below normal.
Only areas in the south east of Moose Jaw are forecast to receive near or above normal runoff.
Below normal runoff in the southwest may result in some water supply issues, including shortages and possible water quality issues later in the year.
With a significant snowpack, runoff in the central areas will be well to well above normal.
However, flooding is not expected at this time.
With significant snowpack in the North Saskatchewan River basin, there is an elevated risk of a dynamic ice breakup and some flooding.
The Water Security Agency expects levels at Lake Diefenbaker to be better than last year.
