The Regina Pats saw their winning streak end at five games after a 7-0 loss in Medicine Hat Tuesday night.
The Tigers would blow things open in the second period with four goals.
Pats Head Coach Dave Struch said they weren’t close to being the team they can be.
“They beat us to the paint at both ends of the ice with and without the puck,” Struch said after the game. “We needed another puck out there, we weren’t even close it was very disappointing, we took some penalties early got behind the eight ball right off the hop and started chasing.”
Struch knows that while his club did not play they way they’re capable of they were also up against a contender in the Tigers Tuesday night.
“There’s no question about that, they have really good individual skill, and they work hard,” he said. “Honestly this is a game we won’t even watch back because there was no one individual on our end that could keep up to any one individual on that team,” Struch added.
The loss drops the Pats to 18-27-3-2 on the year.
They’ll look to re-group Wednesday in Calgary against the Hitmen (28-18-4-1) at 8:00 p.m. on 620 CKRM.
