A Saskatoon police dog who was stabbed multiple times while making an arrest is back at work. Saskatoon Police say, via Twitter, Oliver is back on the job. He underwent surgery at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine.
The evade police incident on February 3rd also allegedly involved suspects trying to ram police vehicles. The Canine team pursued a man in deep snow who’d taken off on foot which is when Oliver was stabbed repeatedly.
A 32 year old man was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, dangerous driving and a charge under the criminal code that prohibits the killing or wounding of animals being used to help law enforcement officers.
