As the calendar hits 2021, some changes aimed at making life more affordable for Saskatchewan citizens have come.
Amongst the changes is a reinstatement of the Active Families Benefit which provides a non-refundable tax credit of $150 a year per child to eligible families with familes of children with a disability getting an extra $50.
Those looking at renovating their home are now able to benefit as well as they can access the Saskatchewan Home Renovation Tax Credit. That sees homeowners saving up to $1,155 in provincial income tax by claiming a 10 and a half percent tax credit on up to $11,000 of eligible home renovation expenses incurred between October 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021. A further $945 in savings may be claimed in 2022 in respect of eligible expenses incurred between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022.
