The province’s Trade and Export development office says Saskatchewan’s economy remains one of the strongest in the nation.
The province says November merchandise exports saw a 45 percent increase compared to November 2021.
This is the second highest increase among provinces.
Total merchandise exports for November 2022 were worth more than 5 billion dollars.
Trade and Export Development minister Jeremy Harrison says the province continues to provide the food, fuel, fertilizer and critical minerals that a growing world needs.
In the first 11 months of 2022, merchandise exports in Saskatchewan rose by 44 percent, compared to the same period in 2021.
Saskatchewan ranked second among the provinces for change in percentage.
Growth was led by aircraft and other transportation equipment at 237 percent and parts and minerals by 88 percent.
Saskatchewan has also seen growth in manufacturing sales, retail and wholesale trade and building construction.
The unemployment rate in November was 4.2 percent, the second lowest in Canada and below the national average of 5.1 percent.
