A group of around 20 protesters in Saskatoon don’t have an exact time of when they’ll leave their camp beside the rail tracks on 20th Street and Avenue J.
The camp has been set up in that location since Saturday afternoon.
Kiyari McNab has been there since Saturday. She says they’ll be there until they’re told otherwise or if their group leaders tell them to back off.
The group has a few tents and a couple of fires going to keep warm in addition to a few signs.
McNab says rail officials gave them the okay to have fires present.
Trains are passing by as per usual, although McNab does say that the trains are travelling slower when they pass through the camp, which is what they’re trying to do with the camp.
Ontario Provincial Police are working on clearing out the rail blockade just outside of Belleville. Protesters at that site were told to move out by midnight last night.
The group in Saskatoon is in support of the Wet’suwet’en First Nation hereditary chiefs in northern British Columbia.
