YQR International Airport is undertaking upgrades to their second floor to improve passenger experience.
The entire second floor seating and restaurant area will be post-security, allowing for passengers and customers to enjoy meals while waiting for their flight.
President and CEO James Bogusz said there will also be a children’s play area post-security to encourage family travel.
“The airport is proud of the work that it does, but it’s really all about the community,” Bogusz said. “We’re responding to the requests of the community to enhance that air side experience.”

Bogusz said flights will not be impacted by these changes.
“When we make the transition from ground side to air side, that will actually be done over night so there will be very limited impact,” Bogusz said. “We have a lot of signage coming to make sure customers know where to go, I don’t want them to think that we’re closed for business; in fact we’re wide open for business.”
Bogusz said this is just phase one of the upgrades to the airport.
“The airport is going to be rolling out a multi-year plan to continue to enhance our air side and to make sure that our customers know this is a world class airport, and we’re proud to be the capital city of Saskatchewan,” Bogusz said. “We’re going to deliver that to all residents of Regina, and of course our entire catchment area.”
These upgrades come at a $1 million price tag, and will be complete by the peak December travelling season.
