GAME 3: MJHL 18U WHITE 3, SJHL 18U BLUE 2
Remy Hlady scored the shootout winner to help the MJHL avoid getting swept on Day 1 as the 18U White squad beat the SJHL 18U Blue 3-2 at the Seven Oaks Sportsplex.
Estevan Cinq-Mars and Adam Matar scored for the MJHL in regulation, while Ethan Sautner and Rylan Wieler replied for the SJHL.
Both goaltenders were outstanding as the MJHL’s Mitchell Kathler stopped 27 of 29 shots, while the SJHL netminder Madden Mullawks of Melfort made 27 stops.
GAME 2: MJHL 20U Black 4, SJHL 20U WHITE 9
Jacob Strizzi of Humboldt, Zac Somers of Melfort and Yorkton’s Keenan Ingram all scored twice to lead SJHL 20U White to a dominant 9-4 victory over MJHL 20U Red on the second game of Day 1.
Reilly Kotai (Melfort), Kye Benoche (Humboldt), Ashton Hutchinson (Melfort) also scored for the SJHL White, while Decker Mujcin scored twice and Wyatt Witham & Matteo Speranza had singles for MJHL Red.
Melfort netminder Kristian Coombs made 18 saves on 22 shots to get the win, while MJHL goalie Christian Green of the Steinbach Pistons allowed nine goals on 27 shots.
GAME 1: MJHL 20U RED 2, SJHL 20U GOLD 5
The Weyburn Red Wing duo of Jerome Maharaj and Ethan Dekay had one goal, one assist each while linemate Jaxson Ruthven chipped in with two helpers to lead Team SJHL 20U Gold to a 5-2 victory over Team MJHL 20U Red in the opening game of the 2025 MJHL-SJHL Showcase in Winnipeg.
Anthony Piccininno, Kent Moors and Keefe Gruener also scored for the SJHL squad that got 27 saves from Angelo Zol in the win.
Niklas Gudmundson and Brody Beauchemin of the Winkler Flyers replied for Team MJHL, who got 34 saves on 39 shots from White City product Liam Ernst in the losing cause.
