Three points from Connor Bedard, including two goals, helped lead the Regina Pats to a 4-2 win over Medicine Hat Wednesday night.
It was a much needed win for the Pats, who had dropped its previous four games.
For Bedard, he now has nine points in his last four outings, and said on the 620 CKRM post game show, he’s been playing with more confidence.
“I think I’m playing with a little more confidence, I think I’m trying to make more plays and that’s when I play my best,” the 16-year-old said. “Obviously when the puck starts to go in the net a little more that’s nice, hopefully I can continue that,” Bedard added.
Bedard will now be away from the Pats for an undetermined amount of time, as he heads to Team Canada’s World Junior Selection Camp.
Line-mate Tanner Howe will now be looked upon for more offense, Howe extended his point streak Wednesday to ten games with two assists, Matthew Kieper made 34 saves, with both Tigers goals coming on the power-play.
For Medicine Hat, it was their 16th straight loss in an 0-13-3-0 stretch that has dropped them to the WHL’s basement.
The Pats (10-14-0-0) next action will be Friday night when they host Prince Albert (9-12-1-1), which will also be the return of teddy bear toss night.
