SaskPower is making billing easier for seasonal power users, such as ice rinks, campgrounds, ski hills, and some farms.
Beginning May 1st this year, the time-period used to calculate the minimum demand charge will be reduced from 11 months to 6 months.
Demand charges are issued to customers who use large amounts of power over a short period of time.
It will reset every May and November, so a customer’s peak months of power use are not part of the calculations for the minimum monthly billing charges applied during their off-seasons.
SaskPower says this change will benefit approximately 14-hundred customer accounts, saving them an average of $1-thousand 140 per year.
