REGINA – The City of Regina has posted on its website that residents may find their water has taken on some colour again.
The city says that in order to support the planned 16-hour shutdown at the Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Plant (BPWTP), and minimize any water disruptions to customers, the City of Regina’s water reservoirs will be at full capacity. But they may need backup.
The BPWTP Facebook page says the plant outage is tentatively scheduled for a 16-hour period commencing Tuesday at 7 a.m.
The scheduled shutdown is required to accommodate capital work projects at the plant, says the BPWTP Facebook page, adding that there will be no production of water during this outage.
The Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Plant has been under construction since the summer of 2022 and is expected to be completed in early 2026.
