Cargill has purchased southeast Saskatchewan crop input retailer Precision Ag for an undisclosed amount.
Cargill says the business will continue as Precision Ag, based in Griffin with no changes for the 23 employees at Griffin, Odessa, Carlyle and Carnduff.
Cargill says the purchase follows a 22 year 50-50 joint venture.
Precision Ag’s leadership team will remain for the next 3 years to ensure a seamless transition of the business.
Precision Ag’s general manager, Jay Gerry, says customers will continue to receive world class professional services and resources.
Precision Ag was founded in 1994 and supplies crop nutrition, crop protection and seed to farms representing 600 thousand acres.
Cargill has 155 thousand employees across 70 countries.
