Saskatchewan officials say fast-moving winds have made it difficult to contain wildfires.
Steve Roberts with the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency says the conditions have pushed the fires significant distances.
He says the fire near the Manitoba boundary is expected to move closer to the town of Creighton and city of Flin Flon.
Roberts says crews are preparing to put up barriers in those communities should flames reach the outskirts.
He says a separate fire is now just outside the community of Pelican Narrows, northeast of Saskatoon.
Crews are battling 15 fires in the province and seven of them are not contained.
The public safety agency says more than eight-thousand people have been forced to flee their communities.
It says heavy smoke and poor air quality are expected in southeast Saskatchewan.
