Canada’s food professor has a dire warning about the world food supply this year.
Sylvain Charlebois says the pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine have resulted in short supplies of wheat and many other commodities in the world.
He says more than 100 million more people will suffer famine or acute hunger by the end of the year.
Charlebois says Canada will have sufficient supply but costs will go up and poor countries will suffer more famine.
He spoke this past week at the Commons Finance Committee.
