REGINA — The City of Regina is currently the most affordable area to purchase a new home in Canada, per a report.
Data from RBC’s Housing Affordability June 2025 report shows Regina currently has a 26.1 per cent aggregate measure.
This measure determines how much of a person’s monthly income goes towards paying off their home.
Royal LePage has recently reported that the average median household in Regina currently sits at nearly $400,000.
Regina’s affordability has also dropped compared to June 2020, when the city stood at a 27.7 per cent aggregate measure.
While RBC said housing supplies are short in the city, Regina will likely continue to see sustained, rapid home value appreciation.
Other notable cities, like Saskatoon, also remain affordable despite bumps in housing prices.
The aggregate measure for the city sits at 31.8 per cent, which is around historical numbers.
As for Eastern Canada cities, Toronto remains with a high 68.3 aggregate measure despite pressure coming off ownership costs.
Meanwhile, Montreal was one of the few markets to lose affordability, increasing to an aggregate measure of nearly 50 per cent.
