Earthquakes Canada confirms a 3.3 magnitude quake for Esterhazy

ESTERHAZY – It has been confirmed that a 3.3 magnitude earthquake impacted Esterhazy on Friday.

According to the data from Earthquakes Canada, the event took place at 1:34.40 a.m. in the morning Aug. 2. It took place about 5 km northeast of Esterhazy.

Esterhazy is home to the Mosaic potash mine which is the largest potash mine operation in the world.

A 3.3 magnitude earthquake is not considered a large one. Meanwhile, the recent 8.8 magnitude quake off the coast of Russia resulted in a tsunami that impacted Japan as well as Hawaii.
