Windy enough for you today? That’s an expression you may hear a lot today thanks to a wind warning that’s been issued by Environment Canada.
The cities of Regina, Weyburn, and Estevan and the towns of Coronach, Assiniboia, Stoughton, Fort Qu’Appelle, Cupar, and Earl Grey are included in the wind warning. According to meteorologists, the gusty winds are thanks to a cold front that will be moving through the province later today. Wind is expected to start in the morning out of the northwest and continue throughout the day with gusts of up to 90km/h forecast Thursday afternoon.
Environment Canada says strong wind gusts could damage weaker structures such as tents and awnings and cause tree branches to break, littering yards.
The wind is expected to subside by this evening, however temperatures will be cooler than normal today. According to Precision Weather, we can expect a high of 14 with a high probability of rain or even a thunderstorm. A low of 4 is expected tonight.
