REGINA — The Saskatchewan Association of Conservation Officers recognizes the newest graduates of the Western Conservation Law Enforcement Academy (WCLEA).
WCLEA is a collaborative training program that brings together recruits from across Western Canada, providing comprehensive instruction in natural resource law enforcement, investigative techniques, defensive tactics, firearms and the many specialized skills required to protect the public, natural resources and wildlife.
According to the Saskatchewan Association of Conservation Officers, for many of these officers, this milestone comes after years of seasonal work and dedication in the field. Their perseverance has paid off, and they are now beginning their careers as full-time conservation officers, the association says in a Facebook post.
With academy training complete, these graduates will now begin their Field Training Officer (FTO) period, where they will continue to develop their skills and gain valuable on-the-job experience under the guidance of experienced officers.
